You cannot put the sensors in a location to read accurate die temps. I use all three temp sensors, one each in my reservior and one for ambient air. The temp sensors if not mounted permanently can help you identify hot spots inside when your case is closed. I don't use it as a fan control either, because I prefer to control the fans in my box manually.

You can monitor the RPM by running a single wire from the control to the sense wire of your fan, disconnect this wire from the fan plug so it is not hooked to anything else.
