I have owned a series 2 single recto for years and it's a great amp. I can confirm the channel switching delay, basically makes the amp recording only for me. What's especially frustrating is the channel switch is on the back of the amp, so you can't even just forget about the footswitch and do it manually because you end up reaching behind the amp constantly.

Another gripe worth mentioning not sure if anyone has is the parallel effects loop - it sucks and causes random problems. RE: master volume, yes it is good in that you can get a sound at relatively low volumes but the fizz that everyone complains about with rectos goes away as you turn up the master volume so as far as I'm concerned I'm not using the Modern channel unless master is at - , same for vintage.

Clean low volume no problem. Clean channel takes pedals really well. Obviously a recto's going to sound better, but I would not say bedroom tones are their strong suit lol.

Greenbacks are a great choice, it's no secret rectos love V30s but they work well with pretty much any decent rock speaker as long as you dial them in right. IMO it made a fantastic low volume high gain amp. Seems like the Mesa philosophy is to do most of the tone shaping in the preamp and the power amp basically just makes it louder.
